Authentic antique flag pole topper. Circa: 1865. Recovered, restored, polished, and lacquered. This was used during the Civil War. Notice the Eagle's left-wing is curved inward and has a small split. During the war, the tops would be placed in a fire so that the soldiers could bend the wings to make them fit inside the fabric sleeve design to transport a flag.
