DONT GIVE UP THE SHIP

This is a modern replica of the battle flag of Oliver Hazard Perry who had it commissioned the famous last words of his friend James Lawrence. Lawrence uttered the phrase just before dying in 1813 on the USS Chesapeake during a battle with the Royal Navy. Perry flew this flag over his ship during his victory in the battle of Lake Erie.

We offer two versions of this flag, each measuring approximately 18.5 inches from left to right.  The height of each is approximately 12.5 inches.

These are new flags that are close reproductions to the original.  This size is considered a size appropriate for a boat.

Typically we mount this on a natural linen that is slightly darker than the left edge of the flag.  The frame is typically gold with the thought it will match nicely with the brass rivets.

These flags are produced for us, in New York, by a delightful historic flag artist.  These are produced one at a time as ordered.  We have these produced with ink on each side.  These are produced with a lining and the text from one side will not show to the other side.  We mount and frame them in our studio.

All of our art selections may be accompanied with a certificate of authenticity.  This is often a gift.  We are pleased to provide gift wrap for you.
